16. How to use Folder Lock’s stealth mode?
Folder Lock is an amazing security tool for your 32 bit and 64 bit operating system, its uncanny features enables you to apply imperishable security on your confidential files, folders, pictures, videos and can also password protect your hard drive.
Folder Lock comes with a unique feature of “Stealth Mode” which completely disables any person from knowing that you are using folder locking software on your system to protect your files and folders.
If you want to enable stealth mode, run Folder Lock and open any Locker, click “ options” tab at the bottom of the vault gate, click ‘Stealth mode’ and check the ‘Stealth Mode on/off’ Box and set the hotkey that you wish to use i.e. Ctrl + Alt + Shift+ Your Key. By enabling stealth mode, you can hide all the traces of Folder Lock from your computer, from Desktop, Start menu, quick launch and Add/Remove programs and even from the program files/ install location. The only way to access Folder Lock after enabling ‘Stealth Mode’ is by using Hotkey.
When Folder Lock is in stealth mode, it is impossible for anyone to know that you are using Folder Lock to protect your data. Sometimes, hotkey you set is already in use by another program and therefore it can conflict with Folder Lock’s hotkey in Stealth conditions. The best solution to recover the program under these circumstances is to reinstall Folder Lock on the same location to restore Start Menu and Desktop Icons. You can also click ‘Start > Run’ or press CTRL+R and enter the path to the Folder Lock.exe which is by default ‘C:\Program Files\Folder Lock 6\Folder Lock.exe’ to execute Folder Lock. You can then disable the Stealth Mode or choose another Hotkey Character for your use.
