4. How to Password Protect CD/DVD?
Folder Lock also works as a CD/DVD Data Locking Software, through which you can very easily and effortlessly password protect folders and files on CD/DVD. Folder lock gives you full feasibility to lock CD data, password protects CDs/DVDs, USB drives, thumb drives and memory cards, so that you can carry your data anywhere with you.

- • To password protect CD/DVD or to encrypt files in a CD-R or CD-RW, insert the media into your CD-RW device.
- • To copy an already created locker in this device, drag and drop the Locker in the CD/DVD drive, and click ‘Write Files’ in Windows XP/Vista.
- • Alternatively, you can right-click the locker file and select “Send To”, and then select CD-R or CD-RW.
Windows Vista users can also burn DVD-R or DVD-RW discs using software that comes with Windows Vista called 'Windows DVD Maker'.
If you are using an older version of Windows that does not support this feature, then you can use CD-RW/DVD-RW burning software like Nero (paid) or InfraRecorder (free), to copy the Locker file with .flk extension to your writeable CD or DVD.
In order to password protect CD/DVD, kindly make sure that your locker is closed before you burn your locker file. You can access these files directly from your CD or DVD by using Folder Lock and by providing the correct password without the need of copying it to your computer later.
It is essential to create your Locker first on your hard drive, and then burn it on your CD/DVD because you cannot create a Locker in CD/DVD-RW directly using Folder Lock's browse for Locker Path.
If you want to keep a secure backup of your encrypted files and folders in a CD/DVD, you can use CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R and DVD-RW discs to perform this task.
