Folder Lock™ uses an efficient and fast Password Locking Protection with an easy to use graphical interface that can lock file and folder on its existing location without moving or copying them to any other location.
Folder Lock facilitates its clients by giving them the ability to lock folders using different methods. You can choose any of them depending upon your ease and comfort to lock file and folder.
- • Run Folder Lock and enter correct password to open Locker.
- • Password Meter will show you the strength of your password. Always try choosing a strong password.
- • Folder lock gives you two different options to protect your files and folders; encryption and locking.
- • To lock folder, select the ‘Lock’ tab.
- • To add folders to your locker, click on ‘Add Files and Folder’, a screen shows all of your files and folders. You can either ‘drag and drop items’ to your locker or you can also use the ‘Add’ button to add folders to your locker.
- • When you are done, Click ‘Lock Now’
- • To finish your locking, click ‘Close to Protect’
You can lock folders and files through context menu of Folder Lock. When you right-click a file or folder after installing Folder Lock, you will see a Folder Lock’s context menu. Digging in this menu, you will find two options that you can perform on your selected files and folders:
- 1. Lock It
- 2. Encrypt It
The options are self explanatory, when you click ‘Lock It’, Folder Lock asks you to set a password for a new locker or open an existing locker after which it adds this item in the list where you can click ‘Lock Now’ to lock this item.
When you click ‘Encrypt It’, Folder Lock instead of adding them in Lock window, adds in the ‘Encrypt’ window where you can click the ‘Encrypt’ button to protect that item in an already existing Locker or a new Locker (depending upon what you chose to enter into Folder Lock).
This feature only works if Folder Lock is not running at that time. You can disable the Folder Lock menu from the Windows Context Menu by simply uncheck this option. File lock by any of these methods is safe and secured.
Folders and files locked by any of the above methods are completely secured, password protected and cannot be accessed using explorer, windows searches or any other search utilities. Hiding feature maintains your privacy, so that no one can get a trace of what you’ve kept in these locked folders.
