Folder Lock software offers security at two different levels; Encryption and Locking. Both the levels are fast and reliable in password protecting your confidential information and ensure complete privacy of your protected data. Folder Lock offers 256-bit AES on-the-fly Encryption which is used in United States Military. It is the most trusted encryption algorithm used worldwide and it guarantees the full integrity of encrypted files and folders.
Follow these simple steps to encrypt files and folders:
- • Run the software.
- • Enter Password either to create a new locker or to open an existing locker.
- • By clicking OK, Encrypt Screen will appear.
- • Now to add files and folders to your locker you wish to encrypt, click 'Add Files & Folders', here you can either drag and drop files and folders in the right pane or you can use 'Add' button to add your files here.
- • Folder Lock offers you three different methods to transfer your files into your locker.
- 1. Leave a Copy
- 2. Move Data
- 3. Shred after Moving
- • To choose a method, go to Options > General Settings > Transfer Method option. Use 'Move Data' if you wish to transfer your files and folders to the Locker otherwise use 'Leave a Copy' if you wish to keep a copy at the original location. Furthermore, you can set the option to shred (to always secure delete) your files. This can be done by choosing 'Shred after Moving' from the General Settings. Alternatively, you can choose these options from the dropdown menu of Transfer Method Bar.
- • When you are done adding files and folders in the Locker, click 'Encrypt Now', this will create an encrypted Locker and move / copy your selected files and folders in it.
- • Click 'Close to Protect' and all your data will be encrypted with strong 256-bit AES Encryption.
You to increase the size of the Locker in run-time, so that if you need to add more files and folders to the locker, you can do so by using Edit Locker > Increase Locker Size option.
To manage your files better, click the Explore button on the top panel of the interface which enables you to see your encrypted data in Windows Explorer.
Now, whenever you want to access your encrypted files and folders, you will only need the locker path and the correct password. No one can access your files without the correct password.
