19. How to encrypt files and folders with Folder Lock?
Folder Lock is a folder encryption software that offers fastest encryption on the fly for your files and folders and ensures maximum protection by applying 256-bit AES encryption. Encryption is the most reliable method to protect confidential files, folders, documents and financial records.
Folder Lock not only offers unbreakable protection for your sensitive data but also guarantees full portability of your encrypted files and folders. With Folder Lock you can encrypt data on your USB flash drives or simply move your encrypted locker to USB flash drive. You can also upload encrypted locker in a web-based interface and send them via email or messenger’s file transfer.

To encrypt files and folders using Folder Lock, follow these simple and easy steps:
- • Run the software.
- • Enter password either to create a new locker or to open an existing locker.
- • By clicking OK, Encrypt Screen will appear.
- • Now to add files and folders to your locker you wish to encrypt, click ‘Add Files and Folders’, here you can either drag and drop files and folders in the right pane or you can use ‘Add' button to add it.
- • Folder Lock offers you three different methods to transfer your files into your locker.
- 1. Move Data
- 2. Leave a Copy
- 3. Move after Shredding
- • To choose a method, go to Options > General Settings > Transfer Method option. Use ‘Move Data’ if you wish to transfer your files and folders to the Locker otherwise use ‘Leave a Copy’ if you wish to keep a copy at the original location. Furthermore, you can set the option shred (to always secure delete) files and folders. This can be done by choosing ‘Move after Shredding’ from the General Settings.
- • When you are done adding files and folders in the Locker, click ‘Encrypt Now’, this will create an encrypted Locker and move / copy your selected files and folders in it.
- • To finish, click ‘Close to Protect’
You can always increase the size of your encrypted Locker in run-time by simply adding more files and folders into it. Even if you are left with little space in your Locker, you can always increase its size. To increase the locker size, enter correct password to open your locker and click ‘Edit Locker’ > ‘Increase Locker Size’ > select how much size you want to increase > click “Done’
Folder Lock gives you a better way to manage your files and folders by clicking ‘Explore’ on the top panel of encrypted content that shows your encrypted data in Windows Explorer.
