14. How to Lock Files and Folders through Context Menu?

The program offers a very useful feature that enables you to speedily encrypt or lock files and folders you wish to protect without the need to run Folder Lock first. Simply right-click a file or folder that you want to protect through context menu, a Folder Lock’s context menu will appear giving you two options:

 

• 1. Lock It
• 2. Encrypt It

 

After selecting the protection type, Folder Lock asks you to set a password either to create a new locker or to open an existing locker.

 

If you have chosen ‘Lock It’, Folder Lock will automatically add this item to the locking list where you can click ‘Lock Now’ to lock this item. If you have chosen ‘Encrypt It’, Folder Lock adds this item in the Encrypt window where you can click the ‘Encrypt’ button to protect that file. To finish click ‘Close to protect’.

 

This feature only works if Folder Lock is not running at that time. You can disable the Folder Lock menu from the Windows Context Menu by simply uncheck this option.
