11. How Folder Lock Works as CD Data Locking Software?
Folder Lock is a file encryption software that offers more than just encryption and locking of files and folders in your hard drive or portable drives. It can function very well as a CD data locking software as it doesn’t restrict as to where you wish to keep your lockers. You can easily burn your Lockers to rewritable or writable CDs and DVDs. Once you create a Locker with Folder Lock and add your important files in it, you may use a third-party burning software to burn a copy of that Locker to your CDs.

However, Folder Lock makes it possible to protect data on any such medium and ensures that all of your files locked in CDs/DVDs are completely safe and secured.
Folder Lock works as CD/DVD Data Locking Software and to use its CD data locking feature, you first need to create a ‘Locker’ on your hard drive, add your data to that Locker and then simply burn this Locker to a CD/DVD (R-RW) and your data is protected.
To transfer an already created locker, simply insert your CD-R or CD-RW disc and copy your locker to this disk. You can simply drag and drop the Locker in the CD/DVD disc and click ‘Write Files’ in Windows XP/Vista. You can also use the Windows Explorer right-click 'Send To...' and then select CD / DVD after right-clicking the Locker file.
If you are using Windows Vista, you can also burn DVD-R or DVD-RW discs using software that comes with Windows Vista called 'Windows DVD Maker’.
As some older versions of windows do not contain this feature, you can use disc burning software like Nero (paid) or InfraRecorder (free). You have to copy the Locker (.flk extension file) to your writeable CD or DVD. Your locker must be closed before burning your Locker file. If you want to access your Locker which you have burned on CD/DVD, you can access it directly from your CD or DVD without the need of copying it to your computer later.
Please note that to use this CD Data Locking Software, it is must that you first create your Locker on your hard drive, and then burn it on your CD/DVD, since you cannot create a Locker in CD/DVD-RW directly using Folder Lock's browse for Locker Path. You can use CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R and DVD-RW discs to perform this task. This way you can always keep a secure backup of your encrypted files and folders in a CD/DVD.
